This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how CodeNimbus Labs ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with MarkStudio Pro, a desktop markdown editing application distributed through the Microsoft Store.

BY USING MARKSTUDIO PRO, YOU AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE APPLICATION.

1. Information We Collect

We DO NOT collect, store, or transmit ANY personal information or user data. Specifically:

No personal identification (name, email, address, phone)
No document content, files, or user-created content
No usage analytics, telemetry, or diagnostic data
No IP addresses, device IDs, or tracking data
No cookies, analytics, or behavioral tracking

We have no servers or databases that receive user data.

2. How the Application Works

ALL processing occurs locally on your device:

DOCUMENTS: Markdown files are processed entirely in local memory
FILE ACCESS: You select files through Windows dialogs; we access only those files
SETTINGS: Stored locally under %APPDATA%\MarkStudio
EXPORTS: PDF/Word/HTML generation uses local libraries only
NO NETWORK: The application makes no internet connections for functionality

The "broadFileSystemAccess" permission allows you to open files from anywhere on your system. This is used ONLY for user-selected file operations.

3. Microsoft Store Payments

Purchases are handled by Microsoft. We receive only:

Aggregated sales statistics (total sales, revenue)
Geographic data (country-level only)

We DO NOT receive your payment details, email, or Microsoft account information.

4. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Securing your device and files
Using strong passwords and encryption
Backing up your documents
Protecting your Windows account

We are NOT responsible for data loss from device failures, malware, theft, or user error.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license
We are not liable for data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
We are not liable for damages from device issues, malware, or third-party actions

Some jurisdictions may not allow these limitations.

6. Indemnification

You agree to protect and hold harmless CodeNimbus Labs from any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from:

Your use or misuse of the application
Content you create or distribute
Your violation of laws or third-party rights

7. Dispute Resolution

INFORMAL RESOLUTION: Contact us first to resolve disputes (30 days minimum).

GOVERNING LAW: Laws of India. Courts of Uttar Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction.

ARBITRATION: Unresolved disputes go to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Proceedings in English.

NO CLASS ACTIONS: All disputes must be individual. You waive class action rights.

CONSUMER RIGHTS: This does not limit your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

8. Policy Changes

We may update this Policy. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
